When the pandemic hit, I had this question rattling around in my head. Did everything I've been working on, just become obsolete? Was it for nothing? And then I took a beat, gathered myself and realized, oh, wait, no, no, this this was not the worst thing that ever happened. This is the biggest gift as the biggest gift to all of us.
Inquiring minds want to know, how are entrepreneurs like us daring bravely to build a stage? Ditch the sweat pants and step up to the mic? How do we create our own transformative events? So we can get our message out into the world in a bigger way that's not only profitable, but it's actually something we can be proud. That's the question. And the answers are inside this podcast. My name is Sarah Faye for welcome to Green Room Central.
Hey, it's Sarah, I have an invitation for you right now. You can join entrepreneurs from across the globe who share a passion for hosting their own events become part of the community that inspires and cheers you on over at greenroom central.com.
Hey, Linchpin Nation, welcome to another episode of Greenroom Central. I'm so thrilled to have you and I wanted to talk today about this concept of a great now being the best time in the history of the universe, to host events.
And I know, some of you might be thinking, a sacrilege, it's terrible.
No, it's still not safe,
Or everyone's burned out a zoom.
And I will strongly disagree and answer you with this.
This is the best time to be starting or scaling events in your business.
And here's why. Yes, events have changed. Yes, I get that. And there might be some places where it's still not safe to do anything other than virtual, or other than small and intimate, or other than extremely complicated and elaborate if we want to do it big. But hear me out.
Yes, events have changed.
But the change really is now about what you as a leader, as the linchpin are going to step up and make them to be you know, it's our job, to find ways to bring our communities together in a safe way and socialize and feed everyone's mental and emotional health. It was never about the big fancy stages and the lights, it was about making people feel good together.
And if we can agree on that, then then we can agree on the fact that it's time to get back to the business of fostering community and creating connections and delivering needed content. It's our time, it's your time.
And I'm here to help you with that.
And the way I want to help today is about just breaking down why this is such a huge opportunity. We all just lived through the biggest case study, however, of why coming together as a community is so darn important.
We all just live through this case study that showed us that we miss people are not together, we miss the opportunity to connect on a deeper level with people that share our common values or history.
We we miss learning new content in a way that allows us to feel that sense of progress. I think, for such a large part of the pandemic we've all felt this sense of I just want to move forward.
And that sense of forward motion of progress comes from learning new things and that's what our jobs, as leaders have businesses are is to take this platform that we've been gifted with and leverage it to bring our communities together.
And yes in a safe way, whether that looks like in person or virtual or hybrid for you is, is your decision. But what's important is not what the environment looks like a V event, but that you're doing it that you're making it happen because only you, as the leader as the linchpin, the person who is connecting everyone in your community together. It's your job to bring them together.
So how are you going to do it? That's the question you should be asking.
Hey, I don't want you to miss out. Did you know that this conversation always continues inside the linchpin nation community, it's a free modern discussion forum exclusively for greenroom central listeners that will have a profound impact on the way you look at events in your business. How are you going to make it happen because gosh knows they've been asking you for it, right?
They've been asking for a way to get together not only to learn new things, or to workshop, a thing or do an activity they wouldn't other have otherwise have done or go to a place they wouldn't have otherwise gone to but to be together. And only you can do that only you can make that happen for your community.
And so I'm kind of imploring you today, to step up to the challenge, and figure it out. And not let any of these extenuating circumstances of the times that we're living in hold you back from making it happen, or scaling what you've already got.
Because there's a you know, what they say like the when there's a will there's a way and, gosh, we've certainly seen that over the past year, right?
I mean, the the innovation in the virtual events space just puts a smile on my face and gets me excited every time I think about it, the virtual studios that are popping up what people are, are able to make happen on a live event is mind blowing things that we never two years ago thought were possible.
The the size of the groups that people are able to gather the amount of revenue that people are able to drive from their events, the experiences that people have been able to create in a virtual space.
Not all but not only that, the creative ways that people and safe ways that people have found to be able to get people together in person. And, and so I don't think any more we have any excuses on hey, we can't host events. I think it's all about solutions at this point.
And, and just getting excited about the possibilities. And just getting started you know, we don't have to have all the answers to get started. We just have to have the commitment that it's going to happen.
And so that's where I want to leave you today is just that challenge to step up to the plate to get in the ring. To start I know you've been taking had your at bat moments, and been putting in the reps and so many other places in your business up until now. But now is the time to get in the ring.
Get those at bat moments putting the wraps when it comes to events.
Know, know that I'm just here in your corner cheering you on. So thrilled and excited to hear about what you come up with.
I can't wait to see the experiences that you create for your communities.
They're waiting for you.
